Four weeks ago the Governor of California closed our Fountain Valley, CA facility in the face of the growing outbreak of COVID-19. This action was implemented to protect the health and safety of our workforce and we agreed both then and now with this course of action. Faced with orders to fulfill and no workforce to meet our customers’ needs, we were able to successfully transition production of all Origaudio products to our Salt Lake City, UT facility. The success of that rapid production transition and the increasingly uncertain future in terms of demand has driven a difficult decision: we will permanently consolidate Origaudio production into our Salt Lake City, UT facility.
Origaudio was founded more than 10 years ago to ‘Make Awesome Happen’ and is now known throughout the industry for innovative, high-quality products that add the element of fun to our best-in-class functionality. The Fountain Valley team has delivered on the promise to ‘Make Awesome Happen’ for 10-years and we are eternally grateful for the role played by the FV team in the success of Origaudio. Neither the industry nor the company are the same after 10-years and COVID-19 adds an element of urgency to the increased uncertainty. We must accept that change, although sometimes painful, is an essential part of a healthy company’s lifecycle.
Becoming part of HPG in 2018 enabled Origaudio to leverage the group’s North American footprint to reduce lead times for customers in Canada and will soon allow for an eastern decorating and shipping location in Braintree, MA. In the west, HandStands Promo has already become a key component of Origaudio’s supply chain by virtue of its complementary product lines, commitment to high-end packaging, in-house manufacturing, central location –with close proximity to California– and a much larger, state-of-the-art production facility.
Origaudio has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past several years by being exceptionally responsive to the demands of the promotional products industry for increasingly faster turnaround times without compromising quality or price. Speed, quality and price are the minimum standards of performance and this move will enhance our ability to compete in all three measures today and into the future.
10-years of success for the Origaudio brand is only the beginning. For our customers, it will be business as usual with familiar faces and voices continuing to deliver awesome products and services: Jason, Mike, and long-time members of the Origaudio account management and marketing teams are here, ready to serve.
Change is rarely easy, but always necessary –especially in dynamic times like now. We are grateful to the Origaudio staff and customers that have made the next chapter of growth possible. With the passion and commitment of 1,000+ employees in the broader HPG family and the continued support of our suppliers and customers, we are looking forward with great excitement for what is yet to come.
