This action will enable you to control the built-in iOS Music app. Use it as a simple control to pause whatever music is playing, or have your favorite playlist ready to play with a click.

      CAMERA

This action allows you to control your camera on a whole new level. You can choose between taking a picture or recording a video.

On ANDROID:
This can be done instantly, so when you use Onyt, your camera immediately takes a photo or start recording video (Background Mode). You will not even see a preview on your phone. Just click and snap.
You can also choose to open the camera window first so you get a preview of what your camera sees (Preview Mode).

On iOS:
In iOS you can use the camera in external apps but you use need to open the app manually first in order to snap pictures with Onyt. Due to Apple regulations, there’s no “Background Mode” in iOS.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:
• When using the background mode in Android, you will not have a preview of what the camera sees. This means that the camera is only being controlled by the trigger (click, double click or hold) that you assigned to it. The assigned trigger will take a picture or start/stop your video recording. When you take a picture or start/stop a video, you will hear a small sound.

      CHANGE CONFIG 

Here you can create preset configurations. It can be used in many ways, for example:

DIFFERENT PROFILES: Do you want your Onyt to work differently depending on where you are? Just load a new configuration, and you won’t have to set up every action again one by one.

POWERFUL COMBINATIONS: This is for those who don’t want the same thing to happen every time you press your Onyt.

Set up your Onyt to change your LIFX color to red, and then add an action to change its configuration. The next time you press it, the action chain says that the color should be green.

      CHROMECAST 

Control your Chromecast devices.

      CONNECT WIFI

This action will give you a list of known networks (ones that you have been connected to before). Just pick a network and every time you trigger this action, your device will start a connection attempt to that network.

      COUNT PRESSES 

This nifty little function counts how many times you press your Onyt button.

Step 1: Add what you want to count.

Step 2: Press your Onyt to activate the function.

Step 3: Start pressing.

Step 4: View the count in the Onyt app and be amazed.

        DEAD MANS GRIP

Before you configure this action, you need to create at least one Task.

SETUP: Pick what Task you want to get executed after a certain amount of time, and pick the delay time.

USAGE: Execute the action to enable the countdown. While active, this action needs to be executed in order to reset the cooldown. Once you run out of time – the Task selected will be executed.

      DEEZER

One click will start your timer and press it again to turn the timer off.

Eon is a Swedish brand that makes smart bulbs and switches. Onyt takes use of this and we have, in an unique collaboration, developed an action that works really really well.

      FAKE CALL 

Bad date? Never fear, Onyt is here! We can help you get out of it. This action will open an incoming call view and start playing your ringtone. The action expires after 20 seconds. To end it earlier – tap the screen or your Onyt again.

TO SET IT UP: By default, a standard picture of “Johan” calling you on a Swedish Sony device will be shown. But if you don’t have a Swedish Sony device, or know Johan, take a screenshot of your incoming call screen and use it by clicking “Select file” below this text. On some devices, that screenshot needs to be rotated. If that is the case, enable the “Needs rotation” option.

      FIND MY PHONE 

This function allows you to find your lost phone. Choose which sound you want and if you want your flash light to flash. Never waste your time looking for your phone again.

This is the same as pressing the physical home button of your phone.

This action controls the state of your Wi-Fi hotspot.

      IFTTT

To use it, simply make an account on www.ifttt.com and find the Onyt user. Here you can authorize your Onyt account and tell the user which Onyts you want to listen for. Then you can define what you want to happen when the IFTTT server registers an Onyt action. Maybe send NASA’s picture of the day to your email or start your garden irrigation system?

In this application, set the IFTTT action on the Onyt(s) you set up in the previous step and you are ready to go.

PLEASE NOTE: This function requires a continued internet connection for your Onyt(s) to speak with the IFTTT server.

With smart lighting, you can change the atmosphere in your home with the touch of a button. One remote control puts you in charge of up to 10 different wireless LED lights. Dim them, turn them on or off, and change the warmth of their glow. IKEA’s smart lighting range includes wireless LED bulbs, panels, and doors for furniture too.

      INTERNET REQUEST

This function enables you to make an Internet request. Choose one of four modes (post, get, put, delete), assign an URL, and send your request by clicking your Oynt.

      JAWBONE

This action tracks the duration, distance and speed of your favorite type of exercise. Onyt is your perfect companion to start and stop your activity, relieving you of that awkward moment when you need to fiddle with your phone during that last sprint.

In order to make distance measurements as accurate as possible, the GPS might need some time to get a good enough signal.

      LAUNCH APPLICATION

Just enter whichever application you want to launch and you’ll have launch power right under your fingertips.

      LAUNCH SHORTCUT

This action executes shortcuts found on your device. A shortcut can be anything from saved Internet pages to executable shortcuts leading directly to different parts on any application.

      LIFX

This function controls your beloved LIFX lights, or makes you wish you had some LIFX lights in your life.

First set which bulb(s) you wish to control and what mode you want.

Toggle: Turn the light on or off by clicking the Onyt.

      LIGHTIFY

Lightify provides you with all the functionality you could possibly dream of when using smart lights. Use the provider view to set up your actions. When at least one bulb is showing below, you’re good to go. Personalize your settings and enjoy the next generation smart lights. ?

      MUTE MICROPHONE

This action simply controls your microphone during phone calls.

Might not work on all devices.

      NAVIGATE

This function allows you to start your phone’s navigation system with a press of the Onyt button.

The only thing you need to think about is where you want to go. Input your destination, and set the navigate type (drive, public transportation, bicycle or walk).

      NAVIGATE MUSIC

This function lets you control your device’s music by pressing your Onyt.

Assign one of the functions – toggle, play, pause, next, previous, forward or rewind – and enjoy a more simple way to navigate your music.

      OPEN BROWSER

This function will open up your main Internet browser.

      PAIR BLUETOOTH DEVICE

This action will list all your known Bluetooth devices, and let you establish a connection with the one you prefer.

      PHILIPS HUE

To configure this action you need to connect this device to a Philips Hue Hub. Follow the “ADD HUBS” button to do this.

Once your lights are listed here below, select the lights you want to be triggered by this action and fill in the configuration.

      SCREEN LOCK

This function will need you to enable the admin privileges to this application. This will actually lock the application, so if you want to uninstall it, you first have to disable the admin privileges in the provider view. You find this view by clicking on the menu button in the upper right.

      RANDOM NUMBER

Generate a random number to display on your screen

      SEND EMAIL

This function allows you to open a predefined email template. Assign one or more receivers from your contacts or your brain, fill in subject and body (email content), and you’re good to go!

      SEND GMAIL

This function allows you to send a predefined Gmail. Assign one or more receivers from your contact book or your brain, fill in subject and body (Gmail content), and you’re good to go!

      SEND INTENT

Send Intent is for more advanced users. Maybe you are a developer and want your own application to listen for the global intent that is being sent in the device. Or maybe you want to trigger some other application that you know is listening for a specific intent.

      SEND LOCATION TEXT

This function will text message your position to one or more specified contacts. Enter how you’d like the text to begin, and the rest of the message will be filled with your current location.

      SEND TEXT MESSAGE

Enter one or more contacts you think will benefit from receiving your text message.

      SHAZAM

Found a song on the radio that you really like? Want to know what song it is? Shazam will find out!

      SKYPE

This function requires you to have Skype installed on your device. Enter the username of the person you want to get in touch with and then specify how you’d like to contact them.

      SLACK

Slack has really improved the way companies handle their internal communication, and now you can take part of this revolution by using your Onyt. Enter a predefined message and let this action handle everything for you.

      SONOS

Haven’t we all wished for synchronized wireless speakers with an amazing sound? Well, say hello to Sonos. To configure and trigger your Sonos speakers, you first need to add them to this application in the provider view.

When at least one Sonos speaker is found, it will appear right under this wall of text.

TRIGGER ONE SONOS:
Pick the Sonos speaker you want to trigger and decide how you want to trigger it. And that’s it. You’re done!

TRIGGER INDIVIDUAL SPEAKERS:
1. Go to our Onyt app -> providers -> Sonos and find all your speakers. We don’t get any information about the names of the speakers so you need to add these yourself to be able to distinguish between them. (Maybe make an action with the speaker, and see which one it triggers in real life.)

2. Go to your Sonos app where all your speakers are listed. Make sure the speaker you want to trigger doesn’t belong to a user.

3. Pick the Sonos speaker in the Sonos action (Onyt app) and assign it to a Onyx trigger. Repeat from step (1) with your next speaker(s)

TRIGGER A GROUP:
1. Go to our Onyx app -> providers -> Sonos and find all your speakers. We don’t get any information about the names of the speakers so you need to add these yourself to be able to distinguish between them. (Maybe make an action with a speaker, and see which one it triggers in real life.)

2. Go to your Sonos app where all your speakers are listed. Here you should see a button called “GROUP” on each of
the speakers. Press this button and remember what speaker you grouped onto. Now add all the speakers you want to be toggled to this user.

3. In the Sonos action in the Onyt app, only trigger the speaker that was the original member of the user. Now when you trigger this action, all the Sonos speakers included in this user should be affected.

      SPOTIFY

We all love Spotify. This fellow Swedish company made it possible for all of us to listen to our favorite music in a blink of an eye. Their client supports actions such as creating your own playlist, searching for related artists and saving songs for offline usage. And now, the time has come to make it even more amazing.

Onyt supports 4 sub actions that we think all you music lovers should have in at the click of a button: Play a track, Play a playlist, Play a random track and Save the current track. This action could also be combined with the “Navigate Music”- and/or the “Volume Control” action for improved music control.

Track:
Search for a Spotify track and pick it from the drop down list displayed under the search bar. Every time you press your Onyt, this track will be played.

Random: Feeling lucky? This sub action will play a random Spotify track. Works great when combined with the sub action “Save”.

Save:
Heard a track you really want to listen to again? This sub action will save the currently playing track to your “Songs” list in Spotify. You need to enable Device Broadcast Status in the Spotify app settings.

DISCLAIMER: Spotify compatibility on iOS is currently in beta.

Remember that if you want to control basic music navigation such as play/pause, next/previous, you can find these functions under “Navigate Music”.

      STOP WATCH

An all purpose timer that alerts you when a certain amount of time has passed.

     STRAVA

In order to make distance measurements as accurate as possible, the GPS might need some time to get a good enough signal. An audio cue will tell you when it is time to start and give you a countdown to when the actual tracking begins.

When the route is finished, the path will be stored in the application and can be listed from the Strava provider. Press it to upload it to your personal Strava account. If the “immediate upload to Strava” field is checked, the application will try to upload the path automatically.

      SYSTEM CONTROL

System Control will help you control the different services that Android provides you with. Unfortunately, the “Flight Mode” can’t be played with due to a restriction in the Android platform.

Some of you might say it’s strange to disable the Bluetooth because your Onyt depends on it… You would be right.

PLEASE NOTE: Changing your screen brightness will put your brightness mode into “Manual Mode” which will stop your screen brightness from automatically adjusting depending on environment. To re-enable “Automatic Mode”, go to Settings -> Display -> check “Adaptive brightness”.

      TASK KILLER

This action will kill all your background activities, speeding up your device.

      UNIFIED REMOTE

Unified Remote turns your Smartphone into a universal remote control for your computer. It supports more than 90 different applications, everything from the mouse and keyboard to your favorite media players, presentations, and even games. The possibilities are endless! Use it to change slide in a presentation, put your computer to sleep, execute a shell/terminal command, and much more!

To get started, you must have the full version of the Unified Remote app installed. The Unified Remote app guides you through the process of setting up the connection with your computer. Creating a Onyt action for Unified Remote is easy as pie. Press “BUILD URI” to open the action wizard.

Remote Action will trigger an action for a specific remote. For example, choosing the “Power” remote and the action “Shutdown” will turn off your computer!

Open Remote lets you open a specific remote in the app. For example, you could program it to open the Mouse/Keyboard remote when you press the Onyt.

Device Actions are used for triggering actions that run on your Android device. For example, Wake on LAN, or even sending an IR signal (if your device supports it). This opens up the possibility to control more than just your computer.

Change Server lets you create a command that changes which server the app is connected to.

Open In App lets you create shortcuts to open different parts of the app. For example, to open the remotes list or the app status.

Destination: Many of the actions can also be programmed to trigger on a specific server (or active server to use the currently connected computer). This is useful if you want to control specific programs on specific computers.

Extras: Some actions may require some extra input. For example, the “Text” action in the “Keyboard” remote lets you input text on your computer.

The VLC player now comes with a handy little remote.

This action works great in combination with other actions that need to be performed in the morning. For example Start my morning playlist, activate my heater and snooze for 10 minutes.

      WAZE

Waze is a social GPS that allows users to share the current traffic situation where they are. With this action, you can specify where you want to go.

      WebOS

      YO

This function will send a “Yo” to one or more of your friends. Enter the username of your friend that you want to contact.

You can also include a link to your location in the “Yo” (but not both!).

The mode “Yo all” will send a “Yo” to all your friends. This sub action only supports sending a link. Leave it blank to send a regular “Yo” to your friends.

      YOUTUBE

Instant Youtube videos – Enter a Youtube video you really like and execute the action.

      ZAPIER

There’s a secret language that lets web apps (Evernote, Dropbox, Gmail…) talk to each other. This language is only spoken by an elite few who possess technical superpowers, and Zapier bestows these superpowers upon you! Want to send an email to create a new Task in Trello? Now you can. Want to backup your Evernote notes to your Dropbox? Now you can!

Your time is valuable. Don’t waste another second or dollar creating complicated integrations systems. Use Zapier to automate the apps you and your team are already using daily.

      PHONE CALL

This function lets you assign a phone number from your contacts, which you can then call by pressing Onyt.

You have no idea how much of a struggle we went through to give you this function. Apparently 40% of our team voted against this function after a two-hour debate.

      PLAY SOUND

Select a file from your phone’s audio library, and activate it by pressing your Onyt button.

This function also comes with a “loop sound” option, enabling you to listen to the same track non-stop until you press your Onyt again.

      POMODORO

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

To use this action – simply create a Pomodoro action with Start/Reset, enter the duration of your intervals and breaks and tell the Onyt app how many intervals you think your task will take.

When triggered, the Pomodoro timer will appear in your notification center and give you sound alerts when it is time to work, take a break and when you are finished. The notification can be expanded to let you see your progress.

      PRESET MESSAGE

Are you nervous about your child walking home from school? Are you relieved when you know that they are home safe? Then this action is for you! Stick your Onyt where your child (or husband) can reach it and tell your child to press it when they come home. A simple text message will be sent to you.

This function also works for other types of scenarios. (Like if you want to tell your boss you’ve arrived at the office etc.)

      PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

This is an action for all you supporters living in Sweden. Enter a station where you travel through a lot, and every time you press the Onyt the next departures from that station will be delivered to you as a notification.

      READ TEXT MESSAGES

*PLIIING* – A new text message arrived. Why the hell is my phone on the other side of the couch? Is it worth the effort to crawl from the couch across the room and read it? Let’s find out.

This function will read the last text message received in your chosen language. No more wasted couch crawl and no more disappointments.

      RECORD AUDIO

Become the spy agent you always wanted to be. Trigger this function to start recording the microphone on your device. Trigger it again to turn it off.

The audio files will be stored in your music folder. Shh. Tell no one.

     RUNKEEPER
